Enjoy Your Life

This one will be short and sweet. Life is very demanding. Life can also get very busy. The older we get, the more activities we get involved in. The more we mature and progress through life, the more commitments we end up with on our plate. If we do not pay close attention to ourselves, we can start drifting through life "on empty" so to speak. It is funny how many of us do this. None of us, however, follow this principle anywhere else. When driving a car we keep watch on our gas tank level. The closer it gets to "empty" we obviously know we have to go get more fuel soon. None of us expect our cars to just keep running even after all the gas is gone. So why do we expect our spirits to keep running on empty? Christians live in a crazy world. When striving to focus on Christ, we must continually take time to regroup and refuel. Otherwise we end up letting life live us instead of us living our lives!

So what happens when we literally do forget to refuel our cars. We end up stranded, stressed out, and exhausted. Have you ever seen someone stranded on the side of the road or pushing their car to a gas station? Most often they look tired and annoyed. If we don't take time to refuel with Jesus that is how we end up. We become tired all the time, annoyed by everything/everybody, angry for no reason, and just plain worn down. To avoid this occurrence, and it can be avoided, here are some simple steps to living well:

Devotion -Talk to God EVERYDAY, in the morning if possible. Take some time to read scripture and pray even if it is only five to ten minutes. Jesus prayed early in the morning (Mark 1:35)

Prayer- Prayer does not have to be on our knees with our eyes closed. We can pray all day any day. The Bible actually tells us to never stop praying (1 Thessalonians 5:17). You can talk to God anytime and anywhere about anything; concerns, to thanks, requests, or just telling God that you love Him.

Have a team- This spiritual life is tough so you must have a group of committed Christian friends to help you along. We are one body in Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12). Therefore we must work together to help each other along.

Bible study- The Bible is God's Word. The Bible is God's instructions to us for living this Christan life fruitfully and effectively (2 Timothy 3:16). The more you read and learn the more you will become closer to God and your desire will increase to live for Him.

Last but not least....Have fun! Take some time in life to do what you want to do. Do what makes you laugh. Do what makes you smile. Go out, take a vacation, or just take some time to do nothing. There is nothing wrong with a busy/productive life, but we all need time for rest, relaxation, and fun.

Jesus wants all of us to live our lives abundantly, or to the fullest extent possible. Through Him we can actually do so. If you just trust in Him, follow Him, and listen to what He says, then He will take care of the rest.

Enjoy Your Life!!!
