Back to the Basics

We all know what important day is coming up; Easter. Many of us know it as Easter, but I wish it was better known as Resurrection Day. This is where it all starts; the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Every real sermon ever preached, every post I write, and every message spread in Jesus’ name should flow into to this foundation. Let’s look at a very familiar verse, John 3:16:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Simple as that. Jesus Christ died for YOU. Think about how loving and astounding that is. God; the Master and Creator of all, the highest and most supreme power, the omniscient One, sent His Son to the world to die just for YOU. Sin is the wrong that man does and this sin separates man from God. This is why God sent His Son to die for us. Jesus took the blame for our sins! (That’s Love) Therefore if you believe that Jesus died on the Cross for your sins and rose three days later, then you are saved; you are free from the penalty of sin (hell). You are now a Christian because CHRIST LIVES IN YOU!

At the end of this life YOU will spend eternity with The Lord in Heaven (paradise). Until that day, however, the rest of this life can also be very fulfilling and rewarding. A sincere yearning and desire to know Christ more and more along with prayer and bible study will develop a relationship with Jesus that no other relationship can compare to.

When times get rough, just remember who is on your side. When it seems as if no one loves you; remember that Jesus loves you so much that He died just for you! When it seems as if you have no friends; remember that Jesus is always your friend. When times of pain and suffering arise remember that just as Jesus physically died and rose again, Christians have died to sin and have a wonderful new life in Christ! He will lead us and guide us through every situation.

During this Easter time and all year round remember what being a CHRISTian really is. Remember what the base of our faith is all about. Be abundantly thankful for the greatest gift ever given. Let us remember that we cannot repay the Lord, therefore we owe Him our lives. Let the love of Jesus grow in your heart and continue to spread the good news of Jesus everywhere you go! Don’t forget where it all starts!
