Your mistakes don’t determine who you are! Whatever happened
in the past is just that. It
is time to move forward. If we are not careful the enemy can
discourage us by making us focus on things we used to do, places we used to go,
things we used to say, etc. But you are not your past! Don’t forget that. The
first person I think about in this type of situation is King David. The same
King David who lusted and became involved in a scandal involving adultery and
murder, but is still ultimately known as a
man after God’s own heart. Think about that.
God anointed David as the next King when he was just a boy
(1 Samuel 16:12). In His omniscience, He knew all the ups and downs His servant
would have. Yet, He chose him anyway. Why? Because He had a plan for David’s
life. He has a glorious
plan for yours as well. He knows everything you have done and
everything you will do, but He loves you anyway. The Lord will work with you.
He will renew your mind (Romans 12:2). You are not your past. You are God’s
beloved. Enjoy your week!
