Let the Word do the work!

This one will be short and sweet. Many times we go through situation and we don’t know why. We get confused, scared, and sad. We don’t understand what is going on. We need encouragement. With that in mind I just want to lift up a few scriptures that should help you whenever you start to worry about the problems of life.

First, Hebrews 13:20-21 (KJV):

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

From the 21st verse we can see that God works in us the things that are pleasing to Him, not us. God knows what is best for us, much more than we do. I could compare it to a little child not wanting to eat their vegetables. They don’t taste good, they look funny, they smell weird, etc. However, the parent knows that the child needs that food in order to become a stronger and healthier person. Don’t you think God loves you and knows what is best for you AT LEAST as much as the average parent loves and knows how to care for their child? God doesn’t just want us to be Christians, He wants to be strong and healthy Christians!

Second, Romans 8: 28 (KJV):
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Everything that happens in life does not make sense to us. There are lies, murder, deceit, pain, grief, sickness, death, and the list goes on and on. But in the midst of all this we have a promise from God that ALL THINGS truly do work together for the good of the Christian. Therefore if you really trust God, then you can have joy no matter what is going on in your life. You will get sad sometimes and you will feel pain. However, you can stand on the promise from God that whatever is bothering you, it will work out for your good in the end!

Finally, Romans 8:18 (KJV):
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Life is tough. Sometimes it seems just downright unbearable. For the Christian, however, God has promised us that after this life we will spend eternity with Him. After we die we will live with our Lord Jesus Christ for eternity in Heaven. There will be no more pain. There will be no more sickness. There will be no more death or grief. No hut at all will exist! So for the Christian, those who have accepted Jesus Christ in their heart as their personal Savior, we have joy in spite of all our trials knowing that one day we will live in a true PARADISE! And nothing, not one thing, no matter how painful ugly and terrible it is, can compare to what we have in store for us!

Let this be your ongoing motivation all day long and throughout the rest of your life.

Reflection points
1.Do I Study The Bible as much as I should?

2.Do I schedule time for prayer, or just fit in when I can?

3.Would scheduling time for prayer and bible study improve my walk with God?

Take this with you: Memorize a verse each day, and watch your stress just drift away!
