What
is your treasure? Treasure is defined as something
valued or precious. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6 that wherever our treasure is,
that is where our heart will be. So think about that. Most Christians are
thankful for their relationship with God, but do you truly value it? Do you value your relationship with Jesus Christ above
anything, anyone and everything else?
Intentionally or not whatever/whoever we are close to is
where our hearts will be; our affection, love, time, money, and attention. If
we give our hearts to temporary worldly things we can surely expect temporary satisfaction
in return; some recognition, a little money, feeling “good” for a while, and
the like. But when we give our hearts (our whole selves) to Jesus we can certainly
expect REAL eternal results; inner peace, joy no matter what, and being complete and confident in Christ.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also (Matthew 6:21). Is there anything more precious to you
than your relationship with Christ?
