“The LORD is
my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my
life; of whom shall I be afraid?” ~Psalm 27:1
Don’t think
too hard; these are obviously rhetorical questions. David starts out this well-known
Psalm proclaiming who God is; his light, salvation, and strength. The apparent
answers to His questions are no one at all. When the Almighty God is your source of power there is no
reason to fear or be afraid. In fact, when God is your
source of power your attitude in life should be just the contrary.
David was
confident in the Lord’s protection and provision and rightfully so. If the Lord is
center of your life; you have no choice but to be walking in complete
confidence. He is the light that guides you in darkness. He provides salvation
that has made you brand new. He alone is the strength of your life. Remember
that there is nothing you can do on your own, but God’s sovereignty is all that
you need. Move forward in confidence remembering there is nothing to
fear!
