“And I, brethren, could
not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food;
for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;”
-1
Corinthians 3:1-2 (NKJV)
The only way to grow spiritually is through Bible study. Christians as a whole today have gotten away from true, Christ centered Bible
study. We enjoy fellowship, praise and worship, and overall just coming together
as brothers and sisters in Christ. While all these are necessary to our walk,
none of these provide the nourishment we need to grow. Only the Word of God can
do that.
Above is a picture of the Greenburg family. The one you
probably think is the baby sibling, being held by her mother, is actually the oldest. Brooke Greenburg,
who has an extremely rare medical condition that has doctors baffled, is actually 20 years old in this picture. While
most of your first reactions are something like “Oh, that’s so sad,” this
is EXACTLY what many of us look like spiritually. We were born again, but then we just stopped growing.
Don’t miss out on God’s best because you are not ready to
understand the deeper things of God. Immerse yourself in the sound teaching of
God’s Word. Remove the influences and appointments that hinder your spiritual
growth.
Brooke cannot change her condition, but you can change yours.
