God Loves You-Tuesday Truth

For the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.
Hebrews 12:6 ESV

Sometimes God’s love hurts. Love (real godly selfless love) is not all about making the other person feel better. Agape love is about the actual well-being of the other person. Therefore sometimes God lets us go through pain. This can be the result of our own actions or just something He has allowed into our lives to make us stronger.

If you have accepted Christ, then God is your Father. Like any good father; He wants you to be as successful as possible. Sometimes He must let you endure painful circumstances that shape you into who He made you to be. Don’t let the world or misguided Christians fool you. God disciplines and chastises you in love! Wouldn’t you rather have God’s discipline in love over the foolishness of the world?

God Loves You-Monday Motivation

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 ESV

In this life our love can be abused so much. We get hurt and misused. It can be hard to love anyone at all. Sometimes we can get so down on the world end even ourselves that we question God’s love. We wonder does He really love us. We question if He still loves us after all the wrong we have done. Life can batter us to a point where we are just not sure anymore. But let me assure you; God loves you.

God loves you so much that He sent Jesus to die for you; His only begotten Son. Christ loves you in a way that when there was nothing lovable about you He still gave His life up. There is no greater love. Jesus’ love for you is not based on anything about you. God loves you simply because He does. You don’t have to work for it. All you have to do is accept it. Nothing you can do will ever make God stop loving you. And God’s love is all that you need! God loves you!

God Allowed It-Friday Freedom

And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Job 42:10 ESV

We want the blessings of Job without the trial. That’s not how God operates. You must be tested. All the great men and women of the Bible were tried. God used pain to transform them into His warriors. God wants to transform you too! Hang in there. Even when you feel all alone, trust God. God will elevate you. Jesus will turn your situation around.

“You're feeling all alone
Your pain is very real
It seems to be no way out
Just look above and deep inside
You can survive!

You're worth much more than gold
Even though you weren't told
Each day is a gift so live
And watch your miracle unfold
You can survive!

Things will really soon get much brighter
The sun is going to shine again
Hang in there and you'll be much stronger
You will survive!

It’s gonna get better!”

God Allowed It-Thursday Thought

“In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.”
Job 1:22 ESV

Do you trust God more than anything? A trial will make us do some crazy things. We get stressed out and worried, which clouds our judgment and thinking. We wind up listening to anything and anyone. We just want answers so bad. ”Why God? Why! Why! Why!” We get confused because we have taken our focus away from Jesus.

Job’s friends were convinced he was guilty of something. His own wife told him to just curse God and die. Everything looked bleak. Yet Job remained resilient. Why? Because he trusted the Lord. Do you trust the Lord? In the midst of your trial; you must focus on what you know to be true about God above all else. Trust that He loves you. Trust that He is working it out for your good. Do you trust God above all else? Even when He doesn’t seem near?

God Allowed It-Wednesday Word

(The devil speaking to The Lord)
“But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.” Job 1:11 ESV

Yesterday I said God puts His toughest soldiers in the hardest spiritual battles. God also makes weaker soldiers strong through the hardest spiritual battles! Satan essentially told God, “Job only loves you because of what he has. If you take it all away, Job will give in to me.” We see now that Job was strong because of what Job went through. If Job never had a trial we would open the Bible and read that Job was a rich man with a large family that loved God. There is no testimony there.

Pain is a testimony in the making. Disease is a testimony in the making. Heartbreak is God setting His stage to show out in your life. Real love and faith in God must be tested; otherwise it’s all just empty words. The enemy has told God if he just takes away something from you or gives you an affliction, then you will curse God. PROVE THE ENEMY WRONG.  Is your faith in God real? Then praise Jesus for the blessings and breakthroughs that are in the making right now!

God Allowed It-Tuesday Truth

“And the Lord said to Satan, ‘Have you considered my servant Job…’” Job 1:8 ESV

God puts his toughest soldiers in the hardest spiritual battles. Satan told the Lord he had been roaming the earth; obviously to torment someone. God volunteered Job for the test. In His omniscience God knew Job would come out of his trial stronger, wiser, and better. God knows our strengths too. He only allows us to go through only what He knows we can endure.

Hate it or love it; sometimes the Lord volunteers you to endure pain. But why? Because He hates you? No. At times He wants to put you on display. Look at Job. Because of Job’s strength we are encouraged by his story thousands of years later. God wants to use you to bring glory to Jesus. Christ thinks so much of you that He is putting you on display. God knows you can make it if you just trust Him. Do you?

God Allowed It

“And the Lord said to Satan, ‘Have you considered my servant Job…’”  Job 1:8 ESV

Whatever situation you’re in has been allowed by God. What does this mean? The Lord knows exactly what you are going through; even though it may not feel like it. What you are facing is not too hard for God. And whatever you are facing is ultimately still under His absolute control. God gave the devil strict boundaries on what the enemy could do to Job. He has not left you.

God allowed Job to be tested. The Lord allows us to be tested as well. Right now you may be in the toughest trial you have ever had to face. You may question God’s motives at times. Is He still there? But He is more with you than you think! What you are going through has been permitted by God to test you. Even the enemy cannot just do whatever he wants with you. The devil is under God’s control. Everything will be alright. Like the old saints say, “If God brought you to it, then He will bring you through it!”

Keep Walking-Friday Freedom

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 ESV

You don’t have to give in to sinful desires. God has given you a way to do better. Just walk in the Spirit. When you just submit to Jesus the fruit of the Spirit will be flowing throughout your spirit and your life. You’ll be surprised at what prayer and real Bible study can do. Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control will be at the core of who you are. Spiritual success will be the norm for your life.  Walk in the Spirit. Live in the Spirit. Let God take over!!!

There's a voice that cries out in the silence,
Searching for a heart that will love Him,
Longing for a child that will give Him their all,
Give it all, He wants it all

And there's a God that walks over the earth,
He's searching for a heart that is desperate,
And longing for a child that will give Him their all,
Give it all, He wants it all

And He says, "Love Me, love Me with your whole heart”
He wants it all today
“Serve Me, serve Me with your life now”
He wants it all today
“Bow down, let go of your idols”
He wants it all today
So give it all TODAY!!!

Keep Walking-Thursday Thought

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
~Galatians 5:16 English Standard Version

Who is leading you? God calls us to be led by His Spirit. We are to follow God’s direction in all areas of life. But many of us just ‘go with the flow.’ We do what we want when we feel like it. But whether we know it or not we are being led by someone. And if we’re not being led by God, then His enemy, our enemy, is pleased with that.

Who do you seek guidance from? Like it or not we live in a spiritual world. What we see is driven by forces we can not. Who drives you? Where do your motives come from? What are you life goals? Who are you seeking to please in this life? An enemy is actively trying to take you off of God’s track. Does the enemy need to work hard or are you making his job easy?

Keep Walking-Wednesday Word

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 ESV

As if spiders aren’t hideous enough; this one is infected by the parasitic fungus Cordyceps. This fungus invades its host and replaces the host’s tissue with its own. In some cases Cordyceps can even alter its host’s way of thinking and make the host travel to an environment where the fungus will have optimal chances for growth. This will obviously lead to the death of the host. Horrendous, isn’t it? Yet this is how many of our spirits look. Even though we may be saved we allow sinful desires to lead us astray into more and more sin and death.

God calls you to walk in the Spirit. If the Spirit is not directing you, then you’re being led by something other than God. Actively and persistently take steps to be led by the Holy Spirit. Seek Jesus’ leadership in all areas of your life. Even though the tug of doing what you want can be so strong, your Lord calls you to follow Him. It is possible to resist the enemy’s attacks, but not if you are allowing him to latch on to you!

Keep Walking-Tuesday Truth

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 ESV

Walking in the Spirit requires discipline. Nothing in life requires a greater deal of focus, determination, and attention. We treat our spiritual lives so carelessly, but put so much time into other things. We sacrifice for our careers, to exercise, and for whatever else we want. Then we wonder why we aren’t experiencing God like we want to. But like anything else; we only reap what we sow.

Success in this life is nice, but all of this will pass away one day. Live in a way that will reap eternal rewards. Make time every day to be alone with God. Who else can help you in life as much as He can? Make time to participate in a true Christ-centered Bible study. Be mindful of spiritual attacks. The Bible refers to the devil as a roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8). Actively and persistently live in a way that pleases God. Walk in the Spirit. God will walk with you.

Keep Walking-Monday Motivation

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 ESV

Life as Christian is rough. Not only do we deal with all of life’s daily issues, but now we struggle with our flesh. We wrestle everyday with our sinful desires, knowing God has called us to live differently than most people around us do. When our minds are focused on the world it seems that we can never live to please the Lord. But God has given us a Helper; the Holy Spirit.

If you have been born again, then you’re learning a new way of living. God gave you His Spirit to show you what to do in all things. To walk in the Spirit means to live in the Spirit. If you just keep your mind stayed on God He will speak to you. There is never a situation in life that you will be alone in. We all slip sometimes. But if you stay in tune with the Spirit through prayer, then you will have victory in all areas of your life!

Born Again-Friday Freedom

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV

Christ offers new life to anyone that accepts it. When we accept Christ we become something totally new. We used to slaves to sin, but in Christ we are set free. None of our sin can define us. We identify with Jesus. When God looks at us He sees us through the blood of Christ. You have the potential do great things that will last for eternity. Why? Because when you accept Christ you become God’s child. If you are truly grateful for this spread the news. Go and tell somebody!

“People go through life without a worry
And they’re spending their time on earthly things
They need to know that through their life there is a purpose
To a dying world this message we must bring
Though we tend to feel security in our salvation
We should constantly think about the lost
There are people young and old dying and losing their souls
Without ever taking time to count the cost
So go and tell somebody!
Tell them that Jesus really loves them
He died for their sins!”

Born Again-Thursday Thought

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
~John14:6 ESV

Do you really understand what it means to be born again? This is the basis for our faith as Christians. The new birth of accepting Christ is what we are all about. The fact that we are born again should shape everything about us. Our new birth should permeate to every area of our soul and flood all areas of our lives. God has made us new creatures; dead to sin yet alive through Christ’s power. Take a moment and reflect just on your own personal sins. In light of your own sins; do you ever just think about how awesome that new birth is?

As we strive to please God in everything we must never lose focus. Fellowship is necessary. Singing and praise help us connect with God. But our ultimate mission is to tell people how to get eternal life! And the only way to do that is to be born again. And the only way to be born again is to accept Christ as Savior. In college I always did well when I participated in study groups. Why? Because I spent ample time explaining information to my peers. I was always talking about the material. It was always on my mind. When was the last time you told someone how to be born again? How often does it even cross your mind?

Born Again-Wednesday Word

Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. ~John 3:3-5 ESV

The rebirth that God’s people endure is completely spiritual. It is just as true and real as our natural births into mankind. Nicodemus was a great teacher of God’s laws and still didn’t understand this principle. Jesus makes His statement very clearly in this situation. The only way to know God and have eternal life is to be born twice. We must be born of water (natural birth) and of the Spirit (rebirth after accepting Christ.)

When Christians forget this essential truth it affects our witness. If we don’t keep in the forefront of our minds that everyone must be born again to enter heaven, we may not be so fervent in our efforts to spread the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. If you have truly accepted Christ you have been reborn. Now it is up to you and all of us to spread this message. There is only one way to know God. You must be born again.

Born Again-Tuesday Truth

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV

In Christ you are not your past. New life in Jesus is an awesome thing the think about. We have to try and wrap our minds around this spiritual rebirth. We may look and feel the same naturally, but we have been made new in our spirits. We have joined Christ in dying to sin and thus have risen with Him into this new life. We don’t just feel new. We don’t just act new. We are made new. Children on God, we have been born again.

Old things are passed away. Your past is just that. The past. Nothing you’ve ever done can define or enslave you. The most vile and wretched person can be new in Christ. He has transformed murderers. He has saved adulterers. He will save and transform anybody. Do you want to live this new life? Understand that you are dead to sin. It has no power. Enjoy and rest in the fact that you have been reborn spiritually in Christ.

Born Again-Monday Motivation

So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Romans 6:11 English Standard Version

In Christ we are born again! Unsaved people are dead in their trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). Paul refers to them as sons (and daughters) of disobedience (Ephesians 2:2). The word ‘dead’ here carries the connotation of being unresponsive. Unsaved people are dead to God (all they can do is sin), but in Christ we have new life! Through Christ’s saving power we have life anew.

In Christ you are dead to sin! If you are truly saved, then sin has no power over you anymore. No more than you give it. You are dead to sin. You don’t have to give in. The habit that has been plaguing you for years. The mindset you want to break so badly. That thing…those things you hope no one ever finds out about you. None of these sins can enslave you! Child of God you are dead to sin and alive in Christ. The same power that conquered sin when Christ rose from the dead lives in you!

Seven Steps Up-Friday Freedom

“and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”
       -Philippians 2:11 NKJV

One day every tongue will confess that Christ is Lord. Everyone. The devil. The most unsaved person you know. Everyone will not be saved, but there will come a time when all will have to confess with their mouths that Christ is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This is Jesus Christ’s seventh step up in exaltation. Hallelujah! Praise Jesus! He is God!

Hallelujah, salvation and glory
Honor and power unto the Lord, our God

For the Lord, our God, is mighty
Yes, the Lord, our God is omnipotent
Yes the Lord our God

He is wonderful!!!
