Exhaustion-Wednesday Word

In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23 esv

God is looking for people who are ready and willing to work for Him. Don’t just talk about what you can do for Jesus. Get out in the world and work for Him! In our earthly jobs we get compensated for our work. Many of us get paid even more when we work overtime and are rewarded for outstanding performance. How much greater do you think that concept is with God?

Just talking leads to nothing. Are you working in some way for the Lord? If so, do you see positive results? The only proof of an authentic ministry is positive godly results in other people’s lives. Many of us work hard, but for the wrong reasons and motives. Forget about success in this world, aim for success with God. For those who know Christ, that is the greatest success and reaps the greatest rewards.

Exhaustion-Tuesday Truth

In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23 esv

True success requires hard work! In our society today there is an ever-increasing desire for the shortcut to success. No such route exists. Patience, dedication, and sacrifice are the only ways to have true lasting results of your efforts; especially when working for the Lord. There are some quick ways to reach a level that looks like success, but the truth will eventually be shown.

The Bible tells us that we reap what we sow (Galatians 6:7-8). You get out what you put in. There are some times where you can fool some people, but you cannot get over on Christ. In working for the Lord; the reward He gives you will be EXACTLY what you deserve. Don’t try to cut corners in God’s work. It may hurt sometimes when other people SEEM to be getting over, but Jesus knows. Have patience, work hard, and know that God will reward you accordingly.

Exhaustion-Monday Motivation

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 esv

God wants you to be successful! He already has plans laid out for you. All you have to do is simply walk where He leads you. The Lord gave us His Word, along with the Holy Spirit, and the opportunity to commune with Him in prayer as means for direction. He has already set you up to be successful in Him. When you take advantage of the opportunities He has given you, then you cannot fail.

Success with God may not be what you have envisioned as success. But success with God is the greatest success possible. Let go of what you think success is and seek to be complete in Christ. It may hurt for a while, but it will pay off greatly in the end. Proverbs tells us that our steps our directed by the Lord and that we cannot understand our own way (20:24). Walk where He leads you and be blessed!

Confidence-Friday Freedom

But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Luke 18:27 esv

Is God really your all? Is He your joy and your strength? Live like it today. Stop trying to do the “little things” by yourself. Since God is your all, then recognize that you must do all things through Him and Him alone. He will never leave you, even when you try to leave Him. The Lord is always faithful. God never breaks a promise. Let Him truly be your all in all. Do all things through Him and be outrageously blessed!

God is the joy and the strength of my life,

He moves all pain, misery, and strife.

He promised to keep me, never to leave me.
He's never ever come short of His word.
I've got to fast and pray, stay in His narrow way,
I've got to keep my life clean everyday;
I want to go with Him when He comes back,
I've come to far and I'll never turn back.
God is my all in all.

Confidence-Thursday Thought

But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Luke 18:27 esv

When was the last time you sought God for His plans instead of your own? Many of us get into trouble not because of the enemy, but simply because of our on bad decisions. Spiritual forces are at work in this world, however sometimes we simply do what we want and pay the price. Then when life gets rough we quote, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” But the problem is we wait until we think we need God to say that verse. Many times if we were doing all things through Christ from the beginning we would avoid immense embarrassment and pain.

Do you bring your plans before the Lord ? Or do you just do your own thing until you feel like you need Him? When Paul said “all things” that is exactly what he meant; big and small. EVERYTHING! Don’t make God the Lord of your life only when it seems convenient for you. Let Him control all of your life all of the time. Do all things through Christ and live your best life!

Confidence-Wednesday Word

The wicked flee when no one pursues,

but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Proverbs 28:1 esv

Whatever God has for you is already yours. That may sound like a cliché statement, but it is true nonetheless. The Lord has created you for His intended purposes. You were made to succeed through Christ’s power. If you are sincerely following Christ, then no one and nothing can stop you from achieving victory.

Take a moment to really think about what “all things” means. Whatever God has for you to do, He has the strength to see you through. Whatever trial pops up in your way, the Lord can crush it in His own way and timing. He has the power; all you have to do is follow Him. If you are a child of God declare to yourself right now, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”

Confidence-Tuesday Truth

But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Luke 18:27 esv

Besides Christ there is nothing else to be confident in. The ups and downs of life show us that nothing in life is consistent except Him. Everything else changes in some way! Finances fluctuate, relationships come and go, even people change over time. But God is always the same. His nature never changes; He always faithful, always loving, always honest, and always true.

Before his bold claim in Philippians 4:13 Paul said that he knew how to be abased and how to abound (4:12). Paul knew what it meant to run low and to overflow. From well-respected and loved to outcast and beaten repeatedly; his life had been through some drastic changes. He claimed confidence in Christ in the midst of it all. Why? Because Christ was always faithful. Take a good look at your life and you’ll notice the same. Be confident in Christ and no one else!

Confidence-Monday Motivation

But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Luke 18:27 esv

As a child of God you can have complete confidence in Christ! Many people never get as far in life as they could because they lack confidence. Confidence is not arrogance. Confidence is simply realizing and understanding that you have the power to succeed. During praise and worship we always recognize how awesome and powerful our God is. For the true Christian, confidence is simply recognizing that that same power resides in you as well.

Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me” (Phil 4:13). Most of us can quote that, but few actually live like we believe it. God has great plans for your life. He has already provided a way for you to achieve your goals. You can achieve anything in life that is God’s will. He already has the means for you to overcome bad situations. You can conquer anything in life if you do it God’s way. If you are a child of God, then be confident in Christ!

Justice-Friday Freedom

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written,“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19 esv

What is this world coming to? Do you know? No. But God does. In a world that constantly changes we only have one true assurance; God will never change! Even though things may seem out of control God is still in control. He knows and He cares. He will make all things right one day. Just trust Him!

“Time is filled with swift transition,
Naught of earth unmoved can stand,

Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.

Trust in Him who will not leave you,

Whatsoever years may bring,
If by earthly friends forsaken
Still more closely to Him cling.

Hold to God’s unchanging hand,

Hold to God’s unchanging hand…”

Justice-Thursday Thought

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19 esv

What is the point of worrying? We worry about EVERYTHING; money, relationships, health, and the future of our nation. But at the end of the day why do we worry so much? What does it solve? How does it help us figure out our problems? Worrying is actually one of the worse things we can do when trying to figure out our next steps in life. Why? Not only is it a sign of doubting God, but worrying takes away from time we could be doing something productive.

What do you do when you start to worry about the future? You could continue to think about the worse scenario or you could do something worthwhile and PRAY. Instead of worrying turn your mind into what I like to call a prayer factory. Worries go in, but prayers go out. Fears come up, but prayers go out. Doubts arise, but prayers go out. God knows what’s next. Stop wasting time worrying with your own finite understanding and get direction from Jesus!

Justice-Wednesday Word

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19 esv

When things happen we don’t like we get angry. When we get angry we want to get even. Often times we want to get even and ‘fix’ situations that are beyond our control. Often times in ager we can do more damage than good in our efforts to make things right. Anger should never be our motivation. Our feelings should never control us.

God says vengeance is His. Feeling angry about a wrongdoing? Take it to the Lord. Who can get more justice; you or Him? Too often we get mastered by our feelings instead of taking proper control of them. Unchecked feelings take us out of the will of God because we want what we want NOW. But Jesus says, ”Step back. I’ll handle it.” Let Him handle it!

Justice-Tuesday Truth

Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you,

and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;

blessed are all those who wait for him. Isaiah 30:18 esv

The world we live in is the result of man’s sin. Often times when we are unhappy with the condition of the world the easiest option is to blame the Lord. We wonder what is going on up there. We wonder what God is doing. But it is not God’s fault. All that we see around is just the result of the initial sin. God placed the world in our hands and here we are.

Certain things that happen in this world should make us angry. People being mistreated and abused and murdered should make us sick. The key is how we deal with these situations though. The first step should always be to take it to our God; the God of the universe. He can and will lead us in handling situations correctly and dealing with our feelings. One day Christ will make all things right, but for now we must trust Him and be strong!

and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him. Isaiah 30:18 esv

We live in a fallen world. Sadly all around we see the effects of sin in all facets of life. Our world is laden with sin, corruption, and pain. So many times things happen in this life that just aren’t fair. We see things happen that are just plain wrong. We wrestle with anger and resentment. We wrestle with our feelings and our knowledge of who God is. Does He know what’s going on?

God sees, He knows, and He cares. This world is laced with wickedness, but the next one is not. One day God will right every wrong. One day Jesus will wipe every tear from the eyes of The Father’s children. One day Christ will expose all evil and everyone must give an account to Him. Right now let s never forget that all things work together for the good of God’s children. He has a purpose and a plan.

He's There-Friday Freedom

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matthew 6:26 esv

None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes. God knows that. He sees you trying. He sees you not giving up. Even when you may feel like giving up, He sees you still striving. Ignore negativity from other people. Just focus on the fact that Christ sees you. Before time itself He knew all about every struggle that you would face and He has all the answers you need. He knew each and every sin that you would commit, yet He died for you anyway. God loves you and He sees you!

“I don’t know how you can still love me
After all the things that I’ve done wrong
You fulfill my every need
And You let me know that I belong
I’ve wondered many times and brought shame to You
But whenever it seems like I’ve lost my view
You point me in the right direction…” ~ Commissioned

He's There-Thursday Thought

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matthew 6:26 esv

Would the Lord really let you down now? Seriously take a moment to think about that. Look back on your life and reflect on all that Christ has done for you. Even when you were dead wrong He still gave you another chance. When you deserved failure He led you to success. When you should have died Jesus gave you life. Why would God stop taking care of you now?

Has God ever let you down? Not one time! The future is uncertain to us, but He knows all about it. He knows about your problems. He has allowed them to come your way. Not to bring you down, but as a means to build you up. Forget about what you don’t know and just focus on what is certain; God knows. Outside of that what else do you really need to know?

He's There-Wednesday Word

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matthew 6:26 esv

God takes care of a bird. The bird has food to eat. It has a home. It is well taken care of. Why? Because the bird is one of the Lord’s precious creations. Have you ever seen a bird worry?  No. God supplies the needs and the bird simply takes advantage of it. Aren’t you of more worth to the Lord than a bird?

Man is God’s special creation. If God takes care of the animals, then surely He will take care of you. You don’t have to understand everything. Just understand that God does. Jesus knows and He is working out every situation. Remember that you are special to Christ. He knows all about what you need (even more than you) and He will take care of you in His own sovereign way.

He's There-Tuesday Truth

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matthew 6:26 esv

Pain is simply preparation for your destiny. In order to go from one level to the next we all must go through a transition phase. Just think about it. This could be anything from a new job, new school, or moving to a new home. Whenever a change is taking place a transition period is inevitable. As a matter of fact it is required for the change to work out correctly.

God knows about your pain. Jesus sees you hurting. Why won’t He just stop it? Because He wants to build you up. There is so much more that Christ has for you, but the transition stage must be endured. Bodybuilders and like love the phrase, ‘No pain, no gain.’ This couldn’t be farther from the truth in moving higher in the Lord. Doing new things, going new places, and learning new habits will be painful at times. But we must endure the pain of transition to reach our destiny in Christ. And don’t forget, God knows.

He's There-Monday Motivation

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Matthew 6:26 esv

My friends, God knows. What does He know about? Everything! The Lord knows all about your struggles. Even when it feels like He is not there, He’s there. Jesus sees His people awake in the middle of the night stressed and confused. Christ sees you doing right and other people seemingly getting over by living wrong. Jesus sees our struggling churches/pastors wrestling with tough decisions. Our Savior sees all of us who are trying to figure life out. Christ sees and He cares.

God promised that everything that occurs in this world would work out for your good IF you are a born again believer (Romans 8:28). God did not say everything would be good, but that all things will work out for your good. In the midst of whatever is wearing you down right now, have faith. Have faith knowing that somehow someway Christ is using that situation for your good. It doesn’t have to make sense to you because it makes sense to God. Whatever the situation is must be working out for your benefit!

Fire and Desire-Thursday Thought

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 esv

Do you enjoy your freedom? Today we celeb rate our country’s freedom from oppression and tyranny. But what about our spiritual freedom. As you go out and pop fireworks and enjoy good food and the parades, celebrate your freedom from sin as well. We have the privilege in this country to live as free citizens from any other authority. We have the privilege to live this life free from any spiritual authority and oppression. Are you enjoying that spiritual freedom? Do you live like it?

Fire and Desire-Wednesday Word

So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Romans 7:21-23 esv

Don’t feel bad. The Apostle Paul, the most spiritual Christian who ever lived, admitted to still struggling with his sinful nature. Like you and me, he confessed that he had desires that he knew were wrong. Paul said that even when he wants to do the right thing evil desires prevail. Oh how we endure the exact same war in our minds and spirits! Then he asks the question.

Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Romans 7:24 esv

Stuck in your wretched sinful state there is no hope. But thanks be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for His salvation work on the cross. Even though the sin nature still persists you have another nature at work within; the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God.  Now you can say with Paul

Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin. Romans 7:25 esv

I’ve heard the war in our spirits likened to a dogfight. Whichever one we feed, our new nature or old nature, will thrive and prosper. Which nature will you let thrive? The choice is yours.

Fire and Desire-Tuesday Truth

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following (the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience Ephesians 2:1-2 esv

Sin has no power over God’s children. Notice here Paul, speaking to Christians, says we were dead in our trespasses and sins. Dead here has the connotation of being totally unresponsive. We used to be totally unresponsive to Jesus; stuck in our evil desires. But not anymore.

Paul says you used to be a child of disobedience, but now you are God’s child. You are new, different, and regenerated. Instead of following the prince of the power if the air (satan) you can walk in the way God has intended you to. The sinful desires that seemingly burn in you have no power; no more than you give them. Be holy. Be free. Enjoy a productive spiritual life!

Fire and Desire-Monday Motivation

We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. Romans 6:6 esv

In Christ we already have victory over sin! When we least expect it a spiritual attack comes. Life has a way of draining us sometimes to a point where our spirits just feel empty. At that point we are highly susceptible to temptation. At times we feel as if the sinful habits that cling to our souls will always have a hold on us. But in Christ Jesus we have already been made free from sin.

Your victory over sin has already been attained in Christ. Now it is up to you to walk into it and realize who you are in Him. Whatever you feel has you bound right now has already been defeated over 2000 years ago, if you have been born again. In accepting the Lord Jesus you have become new. Enjoy your fresh start. Live the way God meant you to; holy, productive, free!
