No Fear-Friday Freedom

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Psalm 118:6 esv

If you are a Christian, then God is all that you need. Just think about it. Everyone’s relationship with Him is different because God relates to us in a specific an intimate manner. He knows exactly what we need and He meets our needs precisely. God’s grace is all that you need. Jesus’ strength is made PERFECT in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). When you meditate on that there is no time for fear; only time to be a living sacrifice.

“When I've lost my direction
You're the compass for my way
You're the fire
When nights are long and cold
In sadness, You are my laughter
That shatters all my fears
When I'm all alone
Your hand is there to hold
Jesus, You're the center of my joy…”

No Fear-Thursday Thought

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Psalm 118:6 esv

Why do we let outside circumstances affect what we know about the Lord? Trial after trial leads to testimony after testimony. God always makes a way. The more we come to know Him, the more we realize just how powerful He is. When we feel Jesus leading us in a certain direction we should go. Looking back on everything He’s done before should give us the motivation to go even farther in Him. But it’s not always that simple…

Christians often let what they see affect what they believe about God. This is backwards. Knowing that we serve an omnipotent God; this should change how we view the world around us. God’s truth supersedes everything. Whatever God has told you to do is possible no matter what the situation looks like. Why would you let anything change that belief?

No Fear-Wednesday Word

The steps of a man are established by the Lord,
    when he delights in his way;
24 though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong,
    for the Lord upholds his hand. -Psalm 37:23-24 esv

If you walk where God leads you then your steps are ordered. When you follow His direction you cannot be lost. There is no need to fear when being led by Almighty God. Even when we slip God will hold us up. (How awesome is that?). Therefore walking in God’s will brings confidence.

Someone reading this is trying to figure out why they are afraid. Instead ask yourself, ‘Am I listening to the Spirit’s direction for my life?’ (Now is the time to be real with yourself and with Jesus) A Christian should only be fearful when they are outside of God’s will. When you are right with God, then everything else is taken care of. Don’t worry about what's next. Simply make sure that you are going in the right direction.

No Fear-Tuesday Truth

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Psalm 118:6 esv

Jesus loves you too much to lead you astray. Common sense tells us that we can't trust everybody. We build trust in people through knowing them. The more they come through for us, the more we trust them. God has come through for us more than anything and anyone else through the salvation work of Jesus Christ. Trust means to put confidence in. The Lord has shown us that we can and should put all of our confidence in Him.

Someone reading this has been asking God for something for quite some time. Have you been asking God with confidence? We can get caught up in asking God with our mouths, but not believing with our hearts. In addition to the magnificent work of Christ, reflect back on all that He has done for you. You can trust God. You should trust Him. Get lost in His love and He will lead you to where you are supposed to be. There is no need to fear.

No Fear-Monday Motivation

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Psalm 118:6 esv

God has made it possible for you to live without fear! Someone is reading this and may be confused. Confused about a decision God is leading you to make. Don't be. You are fearful of taking a leap of faith you have never taken before. Why do we, children of the Most High, ever fear anything? Especially if it is God's will?

Look back through your Bible. God ALWAYS provides for His people. Materially, yes, but more importantly He provides spiritually. The God we serve is intelligent. He will not lead you to go somewhere without having the proper provisions in place. If you are a true Christian, then the Spirit of the same God who raised Christ from the dead is the same Spirit who lives in you. He will not lead you to error. Walk with no fear. Once you take the first step, then the second step will be made clear.

Perfect Timing-Friday Freedom

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
 they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 esv

Don’t worry about someone else’s affairs. God has something laid out specifically for you to do. It may not be what you thought, but doesn’t the Lord know best? How pointless would it be to spend your whole life searching for what you think is best, only to realize it was all in vain? How rewarding would it be to spend life fulfilling the perfect plans that the Sovereign Lord of the universe has for you? What Jesus has for you is already yours. Go get it in HIS TIMING!

What God has for me, it is for me.
What God has for me, it is for me.
I know without a doubt,
That He will bring me out;
What God has for me, it is for me.

It is for me,
it is for me;
What God has for me, it is for me.

Perfect Timing-Thursday Thought

saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done. Luke 22:42 esv

“What am I doing with my life?” A question that can come up in our minds fairly often. If we are not careful we can fall into the trap of basing our worth in comparison to other people’s lives. We look at what someone else may be doing and make ourselves feel bad (or good). However God has created each and every one of us for a unique and specific purpose and plan. We must move in His timing.

“What has God called me to do?” is a better question we should seek to find an answer to. “Am I doing it?” would be a great follow up. We know The Lord’s mind is much higher than ours. He calls us to do different things, at different places, and at different times. Success with God is following His plan in His perfect timing. If you’re not following God’s plan and His timing, have you really done anything at all?

Perfect Timing-Wednesday Word

“And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” ~Job 1:21

The Lord does what He pleases in this world and in our lives. He knows us way more than we know ourselves. Many Christians recognize this Sovereign God when things are working out in their favor, but turn on Him when their situations change. God wants us to trust Him for real!

Job recognized that the same Lord that was with him during his good times was the same loving, true, just, holy , and righteous God that was with him during his trial. Our love and allegiance to Christ should not be based on circumstance, but simply in the fact that He is our Lord. Trust that when everything seems so unmanageable, God is still sovereign. No matter what your current situation may be; He is working it out for your good. He does this in His perfect ways and His perfect timing.

Perfect Timing-Tuesday Truth

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
 they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 esv

We can never fully understand the mind of God. His ways us just too high for us to comprehend. Through Bible study, meditation, and prayer we can know more about Him and more about how He operates. Actually the more we get to know Him we can even learn to think like God at times. However many of His ways are just over our heads and we are not able to fully grasp the way He works.

We are not made to understand everything about how the Lord works. We are made to trust Him. The wrong attitude about how God works can create frustration out of fear. However the Christian can be at peace in any situation knowing that the Lord is in control of everything. The fact that God’s mind is higher than ours should not be irritating, but encouraging. We don’t have to worry about anything, even when we don’t know what is going on, because He is the Sovereign God!

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;

God’s timing is ALWAYS perfect! This is true whether we can see how He is working or not. The Lord has clear and laid out plans for each and every one of our lives. If you are seeking His will, then whatever you are enduring will pass in His perfect timing. We are finite beings, but our God is infinite. He literally has all the time in the world to work everything out.

Anytime we try to rush God’s plans we may be settling for less than God’s best. Do you want the best God has for you? Then don’t try to rush Him! Trust in Him with all of your heart. Believe that He loves you and has your best interest in mind. Pray continually for his will to be done. His plans for you will come to fruition in His PERFECT timing!

Direction-Friday Freedom

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,  that the man of God may be complete,equipped for every good work.
~2 Timothy 3:16

More knowledge about Him is waiting right there in His Word. Take advantage of it. Jesus wants you to know Him on a much more intimate and deeper level than you do now. Learn how He operates. Learn what true Love looks like. Discover what it means to have peace beyond all understanding. Find out what it means to be truly complete. Study the love letter God wrote just for you and be blessed!

“More about Jesus I would know,
More of His grace to others show;
More of His saving fullness see,
More of His love who died for me.

More about Jesus let me learn,
More of His holy will discern;
Spirit of God, my teacher be,
Showing the things of Christ to me.”

~2 Timothy 3:16

How well do you know Jesus? Most Christians would say “pretty well” or something along those lines. Here is another question for you. How well do you know God’s Word? To strengthen our relationship with Christ some people think we have to go on some great spiritual journey or in the wilderness to get some alone time with God. However the real way to know Jesus more is very simple. This would be studying and meditating on the Bible.

Jesus Christ is the Living Word (John 1). He IS God’s Word in human form. He is a living Bible! Therefore when we study the Bible, we are studying Jesus Christ. The Bible is the story of Jesus Christ and His love for humanity. When we let it principles sink into our minds we get a glimpse into the mind of Christ. Your knowledge and true understanding of the Bible is proportional to the depth of your relationship with Jesus Christ.

How well do you know the Word?

Direction-Wednesday Word

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,  that the man of God may be complete,equipped for every good work.
~2 Timothy 3:16

The Bible is our guidebook for life. It is not like any other book. The Bible is the inspired Word of God. Through men’s hands the Holy Spirit wrote this instruction manual to us. It is written by God Himself. It is true. It is inerrant. It does not contradict itself. Nothing is missing from it. It is God speaking.

Just like you trust your GPS or Google Maps app' listen to the word of God. If you want to live pleasing in God’s sight, then listen to what He is saying to you. Study the truths of His Word and let them saturate your heart and your mind. Accept them as true. Let them encourage, direct, correct, and protect you. Live the life that Christ wants you to live. Get close to the book that Jesus wants you to study above all else.

Direction-Tuesday Truth

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
-2 Timothy 3:16-17 esv

The truths in God’s Word can be VERY painful, but we still need them! The severity of the Bible can be likened to rubbing alcohol on a cut or scrape. That feeling is very painful! But we brace ourselves and put the alcohol on the wound anyway. Why? Because we need it and we know we need it. The alcohol hurts, but it also purifies and cleanses.

The Bible purifies and cleanses our spiritual lives. Many things it tells us can hurt. No, many things it tells us WILL hurt. We may realize that our lifestyle, ways of thinking, habits, or even our ideas about God are wrong. But we need to study the Bible anyway. Just like the alcohol it hurts, but deep down Christians know we need Bible study and meditation often. Don’t ignore the truths in God’s Word. Let them purify and cleanse the infections of your spirit.

-2 Timothy 3:16-17 esv

God loves you so much that He gave all the instructions and directions you will ever need in His Word! The Bible is a love letter to us from the Lord. It is the greatest true love story ever told. It shows how He has compassion on His people and how He deals with them. He shows us how we should carry ourselves in order to please Him. More importantly, in His Word God tells us how we can receive eternal life. He wanted you to know that. You are important to Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Living Word (John 1). God has given us the ability to grow closer to Him through Bible study. When Christians study and meditate on God’s Word more, then our relationship with Jesus becomes stronger. God gave you everything you need to know in His book. Take advantage of it!

Higher- Friday Freedom

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14 esv

There is always more in store for you from God. But you have to seek God to receive His blessings. There is so much more Christ wants do in and through, but you have to be willing to seek His plans and His desires. God loves you. If you seek Him diligently, then He will always reveal more and more and more of Himself to you. Seek the Lord. Move forward in Christ with confidence and faith!

“I will press towards the mark For the prize, and I won't faint
There's one thing I desire and that's what I'm going for
I can't continue life, day by day, growing dry
I need to be with you, Jesus,
I'll seek where You are

And I will go from faith to faith
From glory to glory
I'll forever be chasing after You”

Do you want new things from the Lord? Are you ready to know Him more? Then you have to seek Jesus diligently! Make time every day to be alone with Him and get direction. Study His Word to get closer to Christ and grow spiritually. Surround yourself with serious Christian family and friends who will help you walk in the Spirit.

Do you want to know Christ more or just reap His benefits? Seek Christ with your heart, mind, and spirit and you will see REAL CHANGE in your life. Move forward in Christ and never look back!

There is something new in store, but you must let go of the past. Too many people can’t truly move forward in life because they spend too much time looking backward. If you are a true believer, then God has freed you from your past. Let it go.
The past is just that. What’s done is done. If you want something new, something greater from Christ, then you must leave the past alone. It is time for new ways of thinking. It is time for a new attitude. There is a high calling from God. Move forward in Christ and never look back!

Do you seek the Lord? Anybody can claim that they want more from God. Anybody can go on about how they want to blessed, but receiving God’s best takes work! God rewards those that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Not just seek Him, but persistently go after God with a fervent passion.

If you want something new from God, then you must do something new. No one reaches new levels in life simply by doing the same old things. When children want more responsibility they must prove they are ready for it. A promotion usually comes after a positive performance evaluation. And so it is with God. Only a fool would expect more from Him without putting forth any more effort.

Are you ready to experience Christ more than you ever have before? Then it’s time to study like you never have before. It is time to worship like you never have before. It is time to seek Him more diligently and more fervently. Our lives are to be living sacrifices to the Lord Jesus Christ. The more we yield ourselves to Him, the more we can experience ALL He has in store for us!

God always has something new in store for you! Everything else in life can seem so mundane. We wake up, go to work or class, then meetings, go home, sleep, and repeat. It is easy to feel like you are just drifting through life; especially when life seems so repetitive. But Christ always has something new for you!

There is more in store. A relationship with Jesus is unlike anything else in this world. If you ever feel like you are reaching a plateau in your walk with Him that just means it is time to go deeper. There are new assignments to fulfill. New levels to reach. A deeper and more intimate relationship with the Creator is to be had. God is so vast. He is beyond human comprehension. He always has more for you! There NEVER has to be a dull moment in Jesus Christ!

Exhaustion-Friday Freedom

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9 esv

Keep working for the Lord. Sometimes ministry is a battle, but we have to keep working for Jesus. Whether we realized it at the time or not, when we gave our lives to Him we signed up for war! It will be rough sometimes, but God calls us to do His work nonetheless. Remember, serving the Lord may have the greatest trials, but serving Him also reaps the greatest rewards. Who on earth could reward you like God can?

I am on the battlefield for my Lord.
I am on the battlefield for my Lord,

and I promised Him that I

would serve Him 'til I die;
I'm on the battlefield for my Lord.

I was alone and idle, I was a sinner too.

I heard a voice from heaven say there is work to do.

I took the Master's hand, and I joined the Christian band;
I'm on the battlefield for my Lord.

Exhaustion-Thursday Thought

In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23 esv

Are you involved in a feel good ministry? Ministry takes hard work, sacrifice, and dedication. To minister means to serve. The work we do for Christ should ultimately meet other people’s spiritual needs and bring people to Christ. Selfless dedication like this can be painful sometimes. Just like Jesus put the world before Himself and it caused Him great agony; real ministry can be hurtful sometimes. It should hurt sometimes because when we put others before ourselves we are conforming to the image of Christ.

There is nothing wrong with being involved in a ministry that gets recognition, has a nice budget, or that gives you a ‘warm feeling’ sometimes. However these are not reasons for ministry. We are to represent Christ in this world. That is not an easy or fun task, but it is our ultimate mission. When you work for Christ….when you LIVE for Christ you will have some pain. Remember just like He told Paul My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Cor. 12:9)
