Confidence-Monday Motivation

You keep him in perfect peace

whose mind is stayed on you,
    because he trusts in you.

Isaiah 26:3 esv

God is building up your strength, character, and trust in Him. You wonder sometimes, “Why Lord? Why are You allowing this to happen?” You have been going through this trial for a few months, maybe even years. You have prayed, studied the Scriptures, and even examined yourself thoroughly. Yet the trial still remains! God is not punishing you my friend, He is making you stronger.

God has a magnificent task just for you. However, you may not be ready to handle that duty just yet. So Christ is allowing you to be tested so that you will come out on the other side stronger, wiser, and better than ever. Don’t give up friend. PLEASE! Do not give up. Be confident and trust the True and Living God!

Friend of God-Friday Freedom

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 esv

Are you a Christian? Then you are God’s friend. There is nothing you can do to make Him stop loving you. His dedication to befriending you is based upon His love for you and nothing else. ISN’T THAT A WONDERFUL FEELING? I’ve had a few good friends throughout my life, but Christ is by far the best! Whenever you call; He is there. Whatever you need; He has it. Whatever is bothering you; He already knows and has the answer. Jesus Christ loves you unconditionally. His love is beyond feelings. God’s love is an action. The Lord is the realest Friend because His love for us is so real.

You know all about me

The good and the bad

You know when I rise

Yes and fall

You see my beginnings

Stand at the end

And yet you remain faithful to say

I am your friend

Friend of God-Thursday Thought

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 esv

Has God ever let you down? One test of a true friend is their reliability towards us. We call them when we need them, but do they come through? If so that makes them a true friend. Sadly this is how we find out at times some people aren’t as loyal to us as we assumed. We get in a hard situation, call on them, but they are nowhere to be found. Thankfully, that never happens with God. He always comes through!

None of us can recall a time where Christ didn’t come through for us. He is always all that we need. Other friends may turn their backs on us; God is still there. Friends may move to another location, or even pass away; yet Christ still remains. Friends may just get too busy for you; however there is great comfort in knowing that Jesus always has time for you. God is the best friend a person could have. Are you a good friend to Him?

Friend of God-Wednesday Word

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 kjv

One of the qualities of a good friend is the ability to give advice. Our closest friends are the ones who we let in more than anyone else. They know us extremely well; sometimes more than we would like them to. As we grow in our friendships we should come to love our friends more and more. Well let me share a secret with you; God loves more than anyone else can and He gives the best advice!

If you are a child of God, then your best friend is Jesus Christ. He has so much to share with you and it is all in His Word; the Bible. The picture above is of me preparing a sermon just a few days ago. Every time I get deep in God’s I just realize more about who He is. There is always more to learn. There is always a principle or concept that relates to my life. It’s a joy to know that whenever I need advice I can always go to my best friend to get exactly what I need. GET IN THE WORD AND GET WHAT YOU NEED FROM THE LORD!

Friend of God-Tuesday Truth

and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. James 2:23 esv

A friendship with God is a one sided relationship. All of the friendships with we have with other people need some type of balance. None of us want to feel used by another person. We want to know that people are our friends simply because they like us and not because they want something from us. There should a sense of give and take. Well with God it is not that way.

There is nothing you or I can offer as a benefit to the Lord. We need Him. He doesn’t need us. We should take advantage of this relationship as much as we can. This is so amazing for us because God actually wants to be our friend. Even though He totally and completely self-sufficient, He still desires to know us. Why? Because of His great love! Get to know your best friend and get lost in His love today!

Friend of God-Monday Motivation

and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. James 2:23 esv

If you are a true believer, then you are a well connected person. You are God’s friend. Today so many of us are always trying to get connected to the right people. We’re always trying to add ‘connections’ or ‘friends’ depending on your social network of choice. Why? Well the old saying goes, “It’s not what you know, but who you know.” If this is the case you have nothing to worry about because you know Jesus Christ.

If you have been washed in the Blood, then the Lord considers you a friend. The next time a group of people are name dropping you can say, ‘Well I’m good friends with Christ! He loved me so much that He died for me.” No matter what anyone else thinks about you or who else you know; you are a close friend of God. Hold your head up. Walk through life confidently. Be bold. You are well connected. You are God’s friend.

Heart of Worship-Friday Freedom

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Romans 12:1 esv

Does God have all of you? Think about the song I give myself away. "Not just my money, time, or talents, but Lord I give myself. Jesus I’m yours. Do what You will with me." This is true worship. This is the kind of relationship we should all be striving for with the Lord. The Bible tells us that if we delight ourselves in God, then He will give us our heart’s desires (Psalm 37:4). This is because when you delight yourself in God you desire His will for your life. Does God have all of you? Do your desires match up with His?

My life is not my own

To you I belong

I give myself, I give myself to You...

Heart of Worship-Thursday Thought

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Romans 12:1 esv

“Do I worship God with my heart, or just my actions?” We should all ask ourselves this question periodically. With all the responsibilities of life our schedules can be quite demanding.  We can easily get caught up in repetitive actions just because we know we should. We say our morning prayers, go to church, go to Bible study, and the like. All these things are fine, but if your heart is not in it, then they are pointless.

God may have your actions, but does He still have your heart?

The Lord cares about the focus of our hearts and minds more than our actions.  Being a living sacrifice requires the continual development of our relationship with Christ. Study, meditation, prayer, and righteous living should all come from an inner desire to submit your all to Christ; not just to check off your to do list. In the middle of your busy life ask yourself, "when was the last time I just told Jesus that I love Him?"

Heart of Worship-Wednesday Word

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Romans 12:1 esv

At one point in time the Lord accepted dead sacrifices. The periodic shedding of the blood of animals sufficed. However since Jesus Christ shed His blood on the Cross, God requires us to gives our lives to Him in a different manner. As born again believers we are to be living sacrifices. Now we must learn to die to our old sinful selves. Every part of us should be a sacrifice to the Lord.

‘Reasonable service’ can be understood as saying, ‘this is what you should do.’ When someone does something nice for you that usually makes you more inclined to help them when they ask.  God the Son gave His very life just for you! And now He has called us to give our lives back to Him. He gave His all to you. The least you can do is give your all back to Him. This is what you should do!

Heart of Worship-Tuesday Truth

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Romans 12:1 esv

A lifestyle of worship to Christ can only come from a heart set on Christ. Too many of us try to live the Christian life with just our actions, but do not want to give God our heart and minds. This will never work. That is why we see so many people deep in sin, comfortable in hypocrisy, and ‘playing church.’ It is impossible for anyone to truly change their actions without a change in mindset.

A true worshiper must worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). Worship means to honor or reverence. True worship is displayed in the way you talk. True worship is shown in what you allow to linger in your mind. Worshiping occurs when you let the Spirit of God saturate every single aspect of your life. When you give your mind to God, the way you live will be an acceptable sacrifice to the Lord. Worship God in spirit and in truth.

Heart of Worship

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Romans 12:1 esv

God rewards those who seek Him diligently (Hebrews 11:6). Seeking God will be displayed not only in what others see you do, but in the way you live when no one else is around. God calls His people to live to a much higher standard to those around us. We are called to live in this world, but not to embrace its ways. This is how we worship God (with our entire lives) and how we display Christ to the world.

It is not an easy task to live right in the midst of so much wrong. But this is our assignment in this world. You may have to walk away from certain people. You may not be able to go where everyone else goes. You may not feel like you ‘fit in; where everyone seems to be so comfortable, but neither did Jesus. Worship God with your whole heart and just give your life to Him. He will reward you abundantly in this life and forever in the next one!

...But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15 esv

Don't give up on serving the Lord. Even when you just feel like giving up, just keep following Him. Serving Christ always yields blessing. Serving yourself and the world always leads to pain. Get the absolute BEST God has for your life. God never promised that things would be easy. Jesus told us that He would always be with us. Keep following God. You will make it!

Be not weary

In well doing

Know that in time

It will come to pass.

Set your eyes on things above

And know that God is working on your behalf

Your Path-Thursday Thought

...But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15 esv

Aside from following God's plans what else is there to do? The people of Israel's blessing of inheriting the Promised Land was delayed because of fear. Many times we delay (and even worse miss out on) God's best because of fear, anxiety, being stubborn, and do forth. A fact we can glean from the Bible and from our own pasts is that choosing to operate outside of God's will leads to failure?

Do you want to live in failure? Didn't think so. Take a step and look at your life. Are you following Christ with all of you? Does He have your heart, mind, and strength? Always understand that Jesus knows better than we do. Trust His omniscience. Follow His plans and succeed! What else is there to do?

Your Path-Wednesday Word

...But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15 esv

Living your best life is a choice you have to make! No one else can do it for you. In the midst of idol worship and the pagan practices of his day, Joshua proclaimed that he would serve the Lord. We all must make the same decision. So many other things look enticing. So many other options seem like they are better than what the Bible says. People's opinions and the cultural standards seem to drown out what we know is best. That is why following Jesus must be an active conscious choice.

So who will you serve? What path will you take in life? God is calling each of us to a higher level in Him. Jesus is eager to equip you and I to do His work in this world. But living the life God calls us to live will be one of sacrifice and dedication. Get all God has for you. Choose the right path. Chose God's path. Choose to be great!

Your Path-Tuesday Truth

Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. Joshua 1:3 esv

True success cones from following the Lord. People try and try to build themselves. Sometimes they reach a certain level of worldly success. But at what cost? A life seeking after fame and fortune apart from God will yield pain and discomfort. What is success with man without God? NOTHING.

Don't wast time trying to figure out what you think is best. Why? Because God already knows! The path for your best life has already been prepared whether you can see it or not. Get in tune with the Lord seek what he wants you to do. Otherwise are you really doing anything at all?

Your Path-Monday Motivation

Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. Joshua 1:3 esv

When God gives you something no one can take it away from you! Have you ever felt called by God to something you felt was more than you could handle? Most of us have. The problem is that we think to much about ourselves. We say things to ourselves like, "I'm scared. It's too hard for me. I will fail." We have to remember in times like these that there is no failure in God!

The Lord told Joshua that wherever he walked God would give Him that land. It was understood that this would be true when Joshua followed God's direction. The Lord had already set everything in place. Joshua just had to walk into it. Do you feel God leading you somewhere? Go after it! If He has set it up for you then it's yours. Achieve the greatness God has for you!

He's With You-Friday Freedom

...And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:20 esv

Jesus never promised that Christians would not have problems. Actually He promised the just the opposite. But God did promise that He would never leave us or forsake us. When you focus on Christ in the midst of your issue it will seem to vanish. Stop worrying and meditate on the fact that if you are saved then the Lord is with you right now!

Never alone, never alone
Never alone, never alone
He promised, He promised
He promised, He promised
Never to leave me
Never alone, OHHHH!!!

He's With You-Thursday Thought

A man of many companions may come to ruin,    but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 esv

Who is your best friend? Many of us have people who we grew up with, went to school together, or maybe close family members that we refer to as our best friends. However we know that the Christian’s best friend should be Jesus. Everyone else has to take time to handle their own issues, but Christ always has time for us. There are times when other people just cannot meet our needs, but God is all powerful.

Is Christ your best friend? Everyone, no matter how tough you are, has an innate desire to be loved. God made us that way. We are all born with a need for God’s love, but we slip up and try to satisfy that need with everything else. Sometimes we just feel like no one understands us. But God knew all about us before time itself.

He's With You-Wednesday Word

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” ~John14:16-18

Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would indwell all true believers. He knew that we could not make it through this life alone. Through our own strength we cannot live the Christian life effectively. It is simply impossible. But The Lord gives us exactly what we need.

No matter how alone you may feel, a born again believer is never alone. The Holy Spirit is Jesus’ promise to us. He is referred to as a Helper, an Advocate, and a Comforter. He helps us understand scripture and brings scripture back to our memory (John 14:26). He is God’s seal of salvation (Ephesians 1:13-14). Simply stated; He is the Best Friend we could ever have. Thank God for and take advantage of this immaculate friendship.
