Real Love!-Thursday Thought

If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
John14:15 ESV

Do you love God? That may seem like a silly question, but take the time to stop and really ask yourself, “Do I really love the Lord?” Most of us who are saved are mindful of what Christ did for us. We talk about His goodness. We understand to a certain extent how much God loves us. But Jesus says clearly says  that if we love Him, then we will follow His commandments.

Truly loving Jesus is displayed by living to please Him. God is pleased when we carry ourselves according to Biblical principles. This means we must study and live according to the Word. We have to give God more than lip service and just attending church a few times per week. Real love for Jesus Christ is displayed in a Christian’s lifestyle. Now think about that and ask yourself again, “Do I REALLY love Jesus?”

Real Love!-Wednesday Word

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us
Romans 5:8 ESV

We don’t always understand God’s love for us. At times we may even doubt it. Life’s tragedies can make us do that if we are not careful. But what we must remember in the midst of everything life throws at us is that God loves us. Even when it doesn’t seem like He does, God loves us. On top of everything else He proved His love for us by giving up Jesus to die for our sins.

Never forget that God loves you. The world and the enemy will try to make you think otherwise, but don’t believe it. Jesus gave His life up just for you. He laid His life down. He cares about you and your eternal well-being. He cares about you now in the middle of your situation. You may not understand what He’s doing, but trust that He loves you!

Real Love!-Tuesday Truth

For the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.
Hebrews 12:6 ESV

Sometimes God’s love hurts. Love (real godly selfless love) is not all about making the other person feel better. Agape love is about the actual well-being of the other person. Therefore sometimes God lets us go through pain. This can be the result of our own actions or just something He has allowed into our lives to make us stronger.

If you have accepted Christ, then God is your Father. Like any good father He wants you to be as successful as possible. Sometimes He must let you endure painful circumstances that shape you into who He made you to be. Don’t let the world or misguided Christians fool you. God disciplines and chastises you in love! Wouldn’t you rather have God’s discipline in love over the foolishness of the world?

Real Love!-Monday Motivation

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

When we didn’t deserve any of His love or generosity God sent His Son Jesus Christ. It is so easy to get our focus off of the Lord; especially during this season when Christ is the last thing on the minds of the world. However we have to remember how great this gift is that God gave us. When we did not deserve it Christ came to ultimately give His life up for us.

When nothing else seems to be going your way, remember what God did for you. If no one else loves you, God love you that much. If another person never cares about you, the Lord cares about you more than you could imagine. If you never receive a gift from anyone else, if you are a child of God then you have the greatest gift of all. God loves you and He proved that through the gift of His Son. Be blessed!

Hope-Friday Freedom

He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Romans 8:32 ESV

In Christ your situation has to end in victory! No one wants you to succeed more than God does. He set you up for victory when He gave His Son to die for you, He saved you from separation from Him because He wants to know you and mold you into the image of Jesus Christ. I know that sometimes it is hard to believe that The Lord still loves us, but we have to let what we know about God override our current situation.

Love is an action word. There is no greater act of love than Jesus laying His life down for you. Paul asks an intriguing question, "If God gave His Son for us, then what else would He keep from us?" The answer is NOTHING. Since you know that Christ loves you enough to die for you, then believe that He wants you to have joy and success in all areas of your life as well. When trials come and you feel like doubting God, remember that He is the same God who saved your soul and works out miracles for you everyday. God has not forgotten about you. There is hope for the future if you trust God. Just trust Him!

Hope-Thursday Thought

The steps of a man are established by the Lord,
    when he delights in his way;
though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong,
for the Lord upholds his hand.

Psalm 37:23,24 ESV

God can transform your pain into hope! In the midst of a painful situation we can begin to feel as if there is no hope for the future. We easily get caught up in what we see at the moment. Too often we take our focus off of God because of what is going on around us. But we have to remember that our mindset will always change our attitude and our outlook in life. If we feel like our suffering is the end then it probably will be. However, if we understand the truth, that Jesus is always in control, then we will be able to move forward from pain and be healed.

Expect more from The Lord. He can restore you. He can turn your situation around. God is more than able. Look forward to something greater than today. If you trust God then He will bring your situation to pass. Don't let your feelings override what you know about Christ. Expect greater from the Lord. There is more ahead. Expect God to turn your pain into hope and success!

Pain-Wednesday Word

Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. And falling to the ground he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
Acts 9:3-5 ESV

Pain pushes us closer to Christ! Nothing else can make us more diligent in seeking a true relationship with God than suffering. Only in life's valley's do we fully recognize our total and complete dependence on Jesus. Only when we are down do we realize that The Lord is the only One that can bring us back up! Have you ever felt broken? God uses brokenness to get our attention so we can realize He alone is the Fixer.

The Apostle  Paul thought he loved God, yet the life he was living was totally contrary to God's will. Therefore Jesus  blinded him and showed Paul that he was not in control of his own life; Jesus was. Only then was Paul able to straighten up and move in the right direction, God's direction, for his life. Whether we are off track or on course and just need a little push forward, sometimes God uses pain to get our attention. When you feel blind, lost, like your cant control anything just look to Jesus. He is your Lord. God will guide you, heal you, and show you the purpose in your pain!

Pain-Tuesday Truth

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Hebrews 4:15 NIV

God understands our pain. Initially that might not seem like much, but it's a big deal. Pain is inevitable. As much as we want to wipe away all pain in this life, suffering remains unavoidable. In the midst of our hurt what can make it seem eternally worse is feeling alone and feeling as if no one understands us. Have you ever felt like that? One of the worse things a person can endure is to hear someone say, "I know how you feel" and you know they really have no idea what you're going through. The person may mean well. They may love us and care about us, but they do not understand our pain. Sometimes we just need someone to understand. God always understands our problems and He empathizes with us.

Never forget that Christ was a real person who lived a real life on the Earth. He had some good days and some bad days. He knows what it's like to be lied on and disrespected. He understands how it feels to lose loved ones and family members. Jesus definitely knows how it feels to be left alone and abandoned. The God we serve is not some far away deity, but a loving God who can relate to Your problems. Not only does God love you, He is concerned about you and...

Jesus understands your pain. You are not alone!

Pain-Monday Motivation

Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job 1:20-21

Life can be extremely painful. As children of God we are most certainly blessed by the Lord. Even though life is full of mountaintop experiences, life is full of valleys as well. At times we experience things that are so painful we just don't understand why they are allowed to happen in our lives. If you are like me you can admit that sometimes you just ask Jesus, "Why Lord?. I don't mean asking in an irreverent or callus way, but sometimes we just have a heartfelt desire to know why God allows certain hardships to besiege us.

When life gets to this point we have to be like Job. Although he didn't understand why God allowed his wealth and his children to be swept away from him, Job still trusted the Lord. Job understood that God is always good and that He is always sovereign whether we understand His ways or not. Real trust in Jesus (that Proverbs 3:5-6 trust) means having confidence in Him even when you may not feel like it. When He seems giving, bless His name. When He seems to be taking away, praise His holy name! Trust God even when you don't feel like trusting Him. He will heal you and show you the purpose in your pain!

You Are Blessed-Thursday Thought

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ
Ephesians 1:3

Do you know just how blessed you are? Most of us do not. We waste time striving for what the world deems as blessings. But if you are a child of God then you have already been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ! We get down and discouraged often because our focus is on the wrong things. We focus on temporary stuff and temporary situations. But Christ has blessed us eternally. If more of us realized that our outlook on life would be much different.

The greatest blessings the Lord gives His children trump anything that happens to us in this life. Read Ephesians 1:3-23. Christ has redeemed us from alienation from God through sacrificing His life. God has predestined good works for those who trust Him. Your life is already handled; just follow God’s plan. Christ sent the Holy Spirit to live inside every Christian. The Spirit is the mark and guarantee of your salvation; you can’t lose it. The Spirit also helps you understand the Bible and brings it back to your memory; if you take time to study. Now Jesus is in Heaven at the Father’s right hand. We are Christ’s body and therefore seated in Heaven as well. Wow. God’s grace is so awesome. Do you really understand just how blessed you are?

You Are Blessed-Wednesday Word

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and

that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of

works, lest anyone should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9

We ask God and we wonder why we are not being ‘blessed.’ We get caught in the trap of materialism. God has done so much for us and we need to be more conscious of that. There are so many things the Lord has done for us, but perhaps the greatest is Him bestowing His grace on us. Our salvation is only the result of God’s awesome grace. He blessed us when we could not bless ourselves.

Not only has He given you His grace; God has lavished His grace on you. Ephesians 1:8 says God made His grace abound toward you in all wisdom and prudence. If you are like most people sometimes you may feel like you are not blessed. But never forget that God has blessed you immensely with His abundant grace among many other amazing things. Not only just in salvation, but God’s grace keeps you throughout your entire life. If you are a child of God, then you are blessed with God’s grace!

You Are Blessed-Tuesday Truth

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ
Ephesians 1:3

God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. We get caught in what we presume to be blessings. We look at what other people have and then question God. “Why are You not blessing me, Lord?” “Jesus, why are You holding good things from me?” Our minds are just focused on the wrong things. We waste time trying to get more stuff from God when He has already blessed us with everything we will ever need!

Spiritual blessings are better than material blessings. Stop looking around and look up. Forget about what things someone else has or what you don’t have and focus on all that God has done for you. In Christ you are eternally rich; regardless of what the bank statement says. You must be spiritually minded in order to understand these things, however. Get your focus off of the world and tune into all that Christ has for you!

You Are Blessed-Monday Motivation

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ
Ephesians 1:3

If you are a child of God, then you are blessed. You are blessed beyond anything you can imagine. Everyone that has accepted Christ as Savior has been blessed by God, as Paul says, with every spiritual blessing. Notice the past tense here. You have already been blessed with an abundance of spiritual blessings. God has been and is still very good to you. Through dedicated Bible study you can find out just what all those spiritual blessings are.

In Christ you have been restored out of alienation from God. In Christ you have been redeemed through His blood. Because you are saved you have been given the Holy Spirit who is the guarantee of salvation. These are just a few. In a world that is driven by materialism; we can easily get caught up in looking to God only for material ‘blessings.’ But the blessings we have access to are spiritual and are therefore far greater than any material thing. If you are a child of God, then you are truly blessed beyond measure!!!

Real Love-Thursday Thought

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:6 (KJV)

Do you have confidence in God? Confidence itself is not always a good thing. Sometimes we think we should let God handle the big things and we take care of what we can. WRONG. The only way to reach true success is to put all your confidence in the Lord. You must trust Him for absolutely everything.

Is all your confidence in the Almighty God?  He alone has to be the only One you run to for the “big stuff” and the “small stuff.” Really though, what can be considered big to God? Trust that you can do all things through Him like Paul said. Put God first and let everything else in life fade into the background.

Real Love-Wednesday Word

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct
 your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

A major part of love is trust. A natural part of life is wondering about the future. What’s coming up next? We contemplate all the possible outcomes and consequences. We think about what we can do to make our future more favorable. We think about what we can avoid to dodge pitfalls. Planning for the future is not bad in itself, but the first thing we should do is trust God. When we put Him first, the Lord gives us a simple recipe for success. To develop our relationship wit Jesus and experience His love at a deeper level we must learn to trust Him!

God says that of you just trust Him, He will take care of everything. Christ says that of seek His wisdom and not your own, then He will show you where to go. As you go through this journey of life seek God’s direction above all else. Don’t stress yourself out trying to handle all of life’s issue. God is with you. If you just recognize Jesus in all that you do, then He will direct your paths. Walk with the Lord.

Real Love-Tuesday Truth

No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
John 15:15

Developing a friendship with Jesus is hard work! In fact, cultivating any relationship will require commitment and sacrifice. To really get to know someone you must spend time with them. There is no shortcut. This is why so many friendships fall apart. Neither party makes an effort to reach out and communicate. Thank God that we can never lose our relationship with Jesus. Sometimes, however,       if we don’t put the work in we can feel so horrendously disconnected from Christ.

If you have accepted Christ then you are His friend. But now you have to work at making that friendship worthwhile. Jesus Christ should be your first and foremost love. Your heart should belong to Him. You should develop a desire to know Him more by studying His Word; the Bible. You should also have a desire and discipline to put the biblical principles you learn into practice. Through this you will maintain fellowship with God and receive all those blessings He has exclusively for you. You should take advantage of being well connected to Christ!

Jesus Can!-Friday Freedom

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us
Ephesians 3:20

Just keep holding on. You may not know when He is going to come through but you know that He is. You may not know what your blessing is just yet, but know that Christ has one with your name on it. You may not know how the Lord is going to work it out, but He does. Be strong. Keep the faith. God is able! Jesus can!

“He's able

He’s able
I know that he can do it
He said he'd help me through it

Hold on my brother your change is gonna come
Be
strong my sister for your work is not done no
Just keep on believing and hold on tight
He's able to give you joy in the morning light

He’s able!!!”

Jesus Can!-Thursday Thought

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us
Ephesians 3:20

Besides Jesus, who else can you trust? Most of us are guilty of trying everything else first, then running to the Lord. But no one or no thing is as reliable as Him.  Our friends and family can only do so much. Our own intelligence can only take us so far. Money can only do so much. Time after time these things continue to disappoint us. Yet, Christ always supplies what we need. Many of us need to get our priorities in proper order.

Do you trust the Lord? Do you trust Him will all of your being? If so it will be shown in your actions. Not only will you tell other people to trust God with your words, but also with your actions. You will learn to pray when others are worrying. You will live righteously when others are still in the world. You will continually learn to follow the Lord no matter what happens! Do you believe that God is Able? He is! Keep the faith.

Jesus Can!-Wednesday Word

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us
Ephesians 3:20

Exceeding abundantly. The NIV says ‘immeasurably more.’ God’s power is just that great. It is greater than anything we can imagine. Whatever your prayer request is; Christ can do much more than what you ask for. From overcoming your greatest fear, to finally dying to sin, to pursuing a goal that you believe is too lofty. God can fulfill your heart’s desire and much much more.

If you are a born again believer then that power is in you. Whatever task seems so complicated to you is less than easy for the Lord. Whatever you feel led to do; have confidence knowing God is able to do way more than what your mind can even comprehend. The extent of His power is not even able to be measured. And that power resides in you. You can do it. Keep the faith. Why? Because God is able.

Jesus Can!-Tuesday Truth

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us
Ephesians 3:20

Whatever you can’t do, God can. We serve a God that specializes in the supernatural. Our Lord is a Master of the unthinkable. Jesus Christ truly does have all power. We miss out on our blessings because we spend way too much time dwelling on where we fall short. The God we serve, however, has no weaknesses.

God is supernatural. If you take care of the natural, then Christ will handle the super. When God lays something on your heart He knows what you can handle. Just do what you can and the Lord Jesus will handle the rest. Don’t dwell on who you are, but think about who God is. God is Able. Keep the Faith.
