Protector & Provider-Wednesday Word

As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

Compassion usually isn't the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about fatherhood or manliness, but a good father must display compassion. The word, "compassion" in this context carries the connotation of love, care, concern, mercy, and empathy. If a father wants to develop a lasting and loving relationship with His children, then he will display these traits. Leadership and discipline must be coupled with understanding and grace.

The God we serve is a perfect Father. He is Lord and Master of all. He a just God and is very clear in His commandments. He sometimes even has to chastise His children. However in the midst of all that our God still displays His amazing compassion toward us. We know that He loves us AND He can empathize with us. He understands our struggles and our pain. The Lord is that compassionate and loving Father that we all need!
