Fruit-Wednesday Word

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control..." -Galatians 5:22-23 ESV

Any plant must be cared for and nurtured for it to flourish and grow. It takes work, discipline and concern to make this to happen. Plants must be fed, maintained, and protected from hindrances such as weeds. A plant left alone with no nourishment will wither and die. Paul here refers to these nine qualities as fruit. Growing fruit takes time and discipline. We must yield ourselves to the direction of the Holy Spirit and spend time meditating on the Bible and asking God for direction on how we can apply it to our lives. The we will see this "fruit" flourish in us!
