Abide-Friday Freedom

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
John 15:4 ESV

Lord thank You for being my source. In You I have all that I need. In You I have abundant life. Show me how to abide in You everyday so I can see the fruit of the Spirit abound in my life. Thank You Lord.

AMEN

Abide-Thursday Thought

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
John 15:4 ESV

How does a branch abide in a vine? The branch stays connected to the vine. The vine is the life source of the branch. Stay connected to Christ you and your life will flourish abundantly.

Abide-Wednesday Word

 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
John 15:7 ESV

In learning Greek and Hebrew I have found that the best way to master a foreign language is to immerse yourself in in it. Books and videos help, but the best learning comes from conversing with individuals who know the language as well. The more we immerse ourselves in something the more familiar we become with it. Christ calls us to let His words abide in us. The only way to do that is to immerse yourself in the Word of God. Do that everyday and you will see yourself not only grow in your knowledge of the Bible, but your relationship with Jesus will deepen too.

Abide-Tuesday Truth

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
John 15:4 ESV

Jesus calls us to abide in Him. He alone is our only source. Remember that and you will live a fruitful and productive life for God.

Abide-Monday Motivation

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
John 15:4 ESV

Jesus wants you to abide in Him. This is how you bear fruit (true productivity). Stop doing it your way and yield to God's love and direction!

Words-Friday Freedom

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
    be acceptable in your sight,
    Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 19:14 ESV

Lord.
Clean me up from the inside out! I don't want a cosmetic change on the outside. I want a renewed mind. Transform the desires of my heart and the thoughts of my mind. I want to  know You more through studying Your word.

AMEN

Words-Thursday Thought

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
    be acceptable in your sight,
    Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 19:14 ESV

The words that flow from your mouth are a true reflection of the thoughts and desires in your heart. What is in your heart?

Words-Wednesday Word

The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Luke 6:45 ESV

Jesus says here that we speak out of the fullness, or true essence, of our hearts. What comes out is a reflection of what is already in. Our speech displays what we think about, read about, pray about, etc. Clean words flow from a clean heart and mind.

Words-Tuesday Trutth

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
    be acceptable in your sight,
    Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 19:14 ESV

Often times we get caught up in wanting to change other people. Look at David's prayer here. David's focus was on God working inside him. Maybe a shift of focus is needed to grow spiritually.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

    be acceptable in your sight,
    Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

God's will is for your heart and mind to be right with Him. A heart set after God will yield words that are pleasing in His sight. Keep seeking God.

God's Knowledge-Friday Freedom

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
    fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 1:7 ESV

Lord,

Thank You for leading me. Your Word says that if I trust You and don't follow my own understanding, then then You will direct me. I need Your knowledge to be successful in this life. Jesus help me stay away from following what I think and move toward seeking Your will for my life. Thank You Jesus,

AMEN

God's Knowledge-Thursday Thought

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
    fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 1:7 ESV

What do you believe about God? Your views about Him will shape your views about every aspect of life. All you do and all you are comes from your view of The Lord. Do you believe God is all-knowing and all powerful? Do your  decisions display this?

God's Knowledge-Wednesday Word

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”...
Psalm 14:1 ESV

Only a fool could not believe in God. Simply looking at the world around us displays His handiwork. David says that the heavens declare God's glory (Psalm 19:1). The world's smartest men and women are foolish if they think they don't need a God to direct and oversee their life.

God's Knowledge-Tuesday Truth

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
    fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 1:7 ESV

All knowledge begins with God. Every decision must begin with Him. Don't be a fool. Trust God!

Still Standing-Friday Freedom

Wait for the Lord;
    be strong, and let your heart take courage;
    wait for the Lord!

Psalm 27:14 ESV

Father thank You for watching over me. So many times I have faced situations that I thought would ruin my life. Bu You are a protector, healer, and friend. Help me to know You in a deeper way in 2016. Lead me to seek Your will above all else. I know, without a doubt, You have a plan for my life.

AMEN

Still Standing-Thursday Thought

For he will hide me in his shelter
    in the day of trouble
Psalm 27:5a ESV

God allowed a baby to remain alive in this wreckage from an earthquake for 22 hours. Most would agree that God has a plan for that baby's life. Look back over your 2015. Do you think He has a plan for you?

Still Standing-Wednesday Word

For he will hide me in his shelter
    in the day of trouble
Psalm 27:5a ESV

One reason I find this story fascinating is that God did something that far exceeded most people's expectations. While the Nepalese Army was searching the earthquake wreckage many had given up all hope that anyone would be found alive. But God specializes in the impossible! Believe this year that God will far exceed your expectations and surround yourself with others who believe the same!

Still Standing-Tuesday Truth

For he will hide me in his shelter
    in the day of trouble
Psalm 27:5a ESV

The story of Sonies Awal being recovered from the remains of this building is so fascinating to me because it is nothing short of a miracle. I don't think anyone would doubt that God has a special purpose for this baby's life. God continues to keep you and has a special purpose for you as well!

Still Here-Monday Motivation

For he will hide me in his shelter
    in the day of trouble
Psalm 27:5a ESV

One of the greatest stories I remember from last year was that of an earthquake in Nepal. A 5 month old baby, Sonies Awal, was under rubble from an demolished building for 22 hours. Everyone thought he was dead, but Sonies as found alive! There is no rational explanation why he remained alive. If you look back on 2015 you will notice some of your own "earthquakes" that God kept you through. Thank Him for making it through and seeing the beginning of another year.
