Clean Vessel-Friday Freedom

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
2 Tim. 2:21 ESV

Lord Jesus,

You gave Your life to make me clean, pure and righteous. Help me to experience and walk into that purity. Develop me into someone that can be used to do great things for You!

Many times we sit back and wonder why God won't use us. But ask yourself "Am I clean?"

Clean Vessel-Wednesday Word

2 Tim. 2:21 ESV

No one likes eating off of dirty dishes. If good food is put on a filthy dish the food will become dirty as well. God won't use dirty dishes to do His work. He won't use a filthy vessel to pass on good things to others. He wants you to be clean in order to do His will.

Psalm 19:14 ESV

Lord Jesus give me a passion for You like David. Let the desires and motives of my heart be pleasing to You. Let the words I speak be acceptable in Your sight. Give me the heart of Christ.

Mindset-Thursday Thought

The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Like 6:45 ESV

Jesus makes an interesting statement here. "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." The words that flow from our mouths are a reflection of what is in our hearts. The NLT translates the latter half of the verse "What you say flows from what is in your heart." Look back over the last week, month, and year. What have you been talking about, thinking about, and posting about on social media? What is in your heart?

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14 ESV

The physical heart pumps oxygenated blood to the rest of our bodies. In a real sense the heart gives life to our bodies. Whatever is on our spiritual heart (who we are at our core, out true thoughts feelings, and motives) flows out to every other area of our lives. If you want to change your actions you need to change your heart. Only Jesus can do that!

Sometimes our thoughts and actions don't match up with what we know God wants from us. Pray this simple prayer with David. God will answer your prayer.

God's Way-Thursday Thought

God knows you can be the successful. He placed the desire and potential in your heart. Do you believe Him?

God's Way-Wednesday Word

The steps of a man are established by the Lord,
    when he delights in his way

Psalm 37:23

I believe God places a desire for success in the hearts of every person. Confusion comes from a botched idea of what true success is or how to get there. David sheds light on success in this passage. David says that God will lead you when your way is pleasing to Him. God is leading you. He is pleased with your life. He is showing you what to do and where to go. That sounds like a good definition of success to me!

God's Way-Tuesday Truth

There are thousands of books on how to be successful, but all true success begins by submitting to God. Make Christ your highest priority and your steps will be established.

The Word-Friday Freedom

Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him, and he will act.
Psalm 37:5 esv

Lord show me how to trust You. Show me what true commitment is. Lead me into a deeper and more fruitful relationship with You. I believe that You will act Lord. I believe that I will see Your mighty hand moving in my life. Help me commit to You and continually trust Your Word and Your will so that I can reach my full destiny in You!

The Word-Thursday Thought

Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him, and he will act.
Psalm 37:5 esv

Many relationships fail due to lack of trust. Before you can see God work in your life and in your heart learn how to trust God and remain committed to Him. Do you trust Him? Are you committed to Christ above all else? How do you know?

The Word-Wednesday Word

Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him, and he will act.
Psalm 37:5 esv

Committing your way to the Lord here literally means to roll your cares over on Him. For those of you who see the cares and concerns of life as a heavy stone, just roll it over to Jesus. He can handle it. Here we see a recipe for peace. Give your problems over to God AND trust Him. There's a song that says, "Take your burdens to The Lord and leave it there." Too many of us take our burdens to God and pick them right back up! When you seriously trust God you will roll your cares over to Him and trust Him to be God. Then, and ONLY then, will you see Him act!
